US developer WKN Montana II has secured a power purchase agreement for the 80MW Vivaldi Springtime wind farm.
Utility NorthWestern Energy has agreed to pay $37.63/MWh for the output.
The Vivaldi Springtime development will be built in Stillwater County in south-central Montana.
“This project is a great balance between the need for local economic development and the need for affordable electricity in our local communities,” said Stillwater County commissioner Maureen Davey.
WKN proposes to install 26 to 35 turbines, depending on the manufacturer selected.
Construction is due to get under way in the second quarter of 2017 and wrap up in early 2018.
