Royal HaskoningDHV has won an £8m contract from ScottishPower Renewables to carry out environmental assessments for a pair 800MW UK offshore wind farms being planned by the developer.
Royal HaskoningDHV will coordinate all of the environmental assessments, which will include geophysical and aerial ornithological surveys, fisheries consultation and monitoring of shipping at the 800MW East Anglia 1 North and 800MW East Anglia 2 projects off Norfolk.
Data from the studies will form the basis of future planning applications for the two wind farms, which could be submitted in 2019 for EA 2 and 2020 for EA 1 North.
ScottishPower Renewables will start pre-construction works in January on the 714MW East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm, which is the first phase of the East Anglia zone development.
