BHE Renewables has secured investment of more than $400m for the 400MW Grand Prairie wind farm in Nebraska from Allianz Global Investors.
The finance consists of unlisted bonds with a 20-year term privately placed with US and European investors.
It is Allianz’s first infrastructure debt renewable energy investment in the US.
BHE Renewables, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, will use the proceeds to reimburse the costs of the construction that started in 2015 and will be completed by the end of this year.
