Canadian Solar has started manufacturing solar modules at a factory in Sorocaba in Brazil.
The facility, which is the largest of its kind in the South American country, has a capacity of 380MW a year.
The factory will supply Canadia Solar’s Brazilian projects, of which three are currently under development.
They are the 191MW Pirapora I project, which is expected to come online in the third quarter of 2017, and the 109MW Pirapora II and 90MW Vazante facilities, which are expected to reach commercial operations in 2018.
