The first extra-large monopiles have been loaded on to a transportation barge ready for Innogy’s 336MW Galloper offshore wind farm, which will be located off the UK’s east coast.
The company said the barge will soon transport the foundations to the main installation vessel.
DEME Group subsidiary GeoSea is the EPCI contractor for the foundations at the 56-turbine project.
The company subcontracted Sif Group and Smulders to fabricate the monopiles and transition pieces for the project.
The foundations will support Siemens 6MW turbines.
