ScottishPower Renewables (SPR) will start pre-construction works in January for the 714MW East Anglia 1 offshore wind farm, which will be located 45km off the coast of Suffolk in the UK.
Iberdrola Engineering & Construction will carry out engineering design and is the principle contractor for the pre-construction and construction works.
Work will start along the 37km onshore cable route between Bawdsey and Bramford to prepare the ground and the road networks for the start of construction in spring 2017.
It will include highway improvements, such as road-widening, mini-roundabouts and building extra passing places, to improve traffic flow along roads that will be used during construction, SPR said.
The company also plans to undertake several more surveys early in the new year, including ecological mitigation and archaeological investigations.
Archaeological works to date have involved investigation trenching along the route, SPR said.
The company is also hosting public information events about the development on 16 December and 10 January in Bramford, and 17 December and 7 January in Martlesham.
