Hydro and tidal projects have won three of the 13 prizes at the 2016 Scottish Green Energy Awards, announced at an event in Edinburgh last night.
Aberdeen Community Energy and Highland Eco-Design were honoured for the 100kW Donside hydro community project in Aberdeen, organisers Scottish Renewables said.
Edinburgh company Nova Innovation won an award for its Shetland Tidal Array project, the first such project to export electricity to the grid.
Other winners included Glasgow Science Centre’s Powering the Future exhibition, which explains how the energy system works, ORE Catapult and Enercon UK.
Almost 50 organisations were in line for awards across the 13 categories.
“Once again the winners of the Scottish Green Energy Awards show the huge amount of creativity and determination within our sector,” Scottish Renewables chief executive Niall Stuart said.
“Each and every one is playing their part in the massive transformation that is underway in Scotland’s energy sector and wider economy.”
