The government of the Russian region of Karelia and Chinese company Sinomec have signed an agreement to develop a 60MW offshore wind farm.
The $138m project will source 65% of the equipment in Russia, and create more than 200 jobs during the construction phase and about 30 when operational.
It will be built in the Kemsky district, according to a statement from the regional government.
Construction is scheduled to take place between 2017 and 2020, the statement said.
