Nordex has confirmed that it will supply turbines to ESB and Coillte’s 33.1MW Castlepook wind farm in County Cork, Ireland.
The German manufacturer will supply 14 N90/2500 wind turbines with 125-metre tip heights. The deal was first revealed by subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS in October 2015.
Delivery will start in summer 2017 and Nordex will also service the wind farm for an initial period of six years.
In addition, Nordex has been awarded four new service contracts by ESB for 27 machines at wind farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The turbines are in the N80/2500 and N90/2500 product ranges and have been operating up to six-and-a-half years, Nordex said.
ESB has 35 Nordex turbines – totalling 88MW – already in operation, with a further 25 units representing 63MW on order.
