MPI jack-up vessel Resolution will undertake a gearbox exchange at Eon’s 302MW Amrumbank West offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The contract includes the exchange of a single gearbox in an upgraded Siemens 3.77MW turbine, accommodation and supporting crane duties.
Works are expected to be completed before the end of November.
The job is the first since Resolution was refitted with leg extensions at the company’s Tees offshore base in Middlesbrough, with that work finishing earlier this month.
The vessel can now operate in water depths of up to 35 metres – a gain of up to seven metres on its previous jacking capabilities.
