German developer BayWa has sold a 4.8MW wind project in the Bavarian town of Creußen to local non-government organization Neue Energien West, for an undisclosed sum.
The deal forms a foundation for further collaboration with community-owned groups, BayWa director Mattias Taft said. “Members of local communities are increasingly interested in becoming actively involved in this new, decentralized and sustainable form of energy provision,” he said.
The project consists of two Nordex N117 turbines with a hub height of 141 metres and has been in operation since June.
It is not related to the nearby 14.4MW Creußen wind farm, acquired last month by Trianel.
