Gulf Power has received approval from the Florida Public Service Commission to increase by 94MW the electricity it buys from the Kingfisher wind farm in Oklahoma.
Kingfisher has been operating since January and provides Gulf Power with 178MW of electricity under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
The new deal would raise the power purchased by the Florida utility from Kingfisher to 272MW.
The wind farm consists comprises 149 Vestas V100 2MW turbines, and, with latest agreement, 136 machines are now designated for Gulf.
