The first turbine components started arriving on 3 October at SSE’s 110MW Bhlaraidh wind farm near Invermoriston in Scotland.
SSE said that over the next five weeks the site will receive blades, turbine tower sections and components for the construction of the wind farm’s first seven turbines.
The components are being delivered to Bhlaraidh via two routes, one from Skye and one from Inverness, the company added.
A second batch run will start in early spring 2017, when the remaining 25 turbines will transported to the site.
The project will feature 30 Vestas V117-3.45MW and two V112.3.45MW wind turbines.
It is scheduled to fully operational by the end of 2017.
