Solar developer Eco Energy World has won planning consent for a 140MW photovoltaic plant in Australia.
The $280m project near Maryborough in Queensland is expected to start early next year, the London developer said.
Eco Energy World’s Australia unit plans to develop 1GW of solar capacity over the next two years and has secured 440MW of projects in various stages of planning.
To date, the company has developed 20 solar parks in the UK as well as projects in Europe.
“We have a unique proposition, where our projects are based on a merchant income model and therefore the projects are not delayed by PPAs,” EEW chairman Svante Kumlin said.
