UK high voltage engineering specialist EDS Group is to carry out cable termination and jointing work at the 400MW Rampion offshore wind farm off the Sussex coast in the UK.
EDS said the deal, first reported in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS, will involve jointing, termination and testing on the project’s 33kV cables.
The work is set to start this autumn, the company said.
EDS Group managing director Ken Ritson said: “As we continue on our growth journey, to win this bid as a Tier 1 supplier shows that we have truly tested ourselves against the wider market.”
Rampion will comprise 116 MHI Vestas V112-3.45MW turbines, which will start to be installed in early 2017.
The wind farm will be commissioned in 2018 and is being developed by Eon, the UK Green Investment Bank and Canadian energy company Enbridge.
