GE Renewable Energy has completed construction of 30 GE 1.7-103 turbines for Mytrah Energy’s 51MW Aspari I wind farm in south-east India.
The wind farm, which is the first of a three-phase project that will total 200MW, is now ready for commissioning.
The remaining two phases are expected to feature 52 GE 2.3-116 machines and 47 GE 1.7-103 units and will be completed in the coming months, the US giant said.
The project, which is located in Kurnool in the state of Andhra Pradesh, will also use GE’s new digital wind farm energy forecasting system.
GE said the digital application uses weather forecasting data to generate more accurate financial modelling to help better predict the next day’s grid supply and demand fluctuations.
GE president and chief executive of the onshore wind business Anne McEntee said: “The Aspari project is a good example of the added value that comes from combining multiple hardware and software technologies to better match specific conditions across a large site.”
