Union Investment has closed its €320m renewables fund after agreeing a deal to acquire the 37MW Carrowleagh wind farm in Ireland.
The German outfit said the purchase from Aeropower Wind Energy increases its portfolio of operating wind and solar assets to 150MW.
Carrowleagh was commissioned in 2012 and features 16 Enercon E-70 turbines.
“We have invested in the generation of renewable energy at European level to meet the needs of institutional investors and are very satisfied with the results,” said Union’s Christoph Schumacher.
“The infrastructure fund is broadly diversified and exploits the good conditions for wind and solar energy at the various locations.”
