Construction is well under way at EDP Renewables North America’s 77.7MW Jericho Rise wind farm in New York State.
The developer is installing 37 Gamesa G114 2.1MW turbines in the towns of Chateaugay and Bellmont in Franklin County.
The New York Independent System Operator (NYSO) has filed a large generator interconnection agreement with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Jericho Rise will connect to the grid at New York Power Authority’s existing 115kV Willis substation.
It has a November 2016 target date for the start of commercial operation, according to NYSO.
EDP is negotiating a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement with Franklin County.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority awarded the project with state funding in a 2014 solicitation.
