FoundOcean has confirmed that it won a contract from Geosea to connect monopiles and transition pieces for Dong’s 573MW Race Bank wind farm off the Norfolk coast.
The offshore wind farm, due to come online in 2018, will include 91 Siemens 6MW turbines.
Geosea is in charge of the transportation and installation of the project’s 91 monopile foundations.
FoundOcean and its partner BASF had to demonstrate the suitability of the proposed material MasterFlow 9500 as well as efficiency savings and productivity improvements both onshore and off, they said.
The solution is proven to enable installation contractors to optimise their schedules using the shortest of weather windows, according to the partners.
“Both FoundOcean and BASF are very pleased and grateful that the Geosea project teams have once again decided to put their trust in our products and services,” FoundOcean chief executive Jim Bell said.
