Siem Offshore is nearing completion of the installation of inter-array cables at the 332MW Nordsee 1 wind farm in the German North Sea.
The JDR-made wires have all been laid but the company is still carrying out final testing, said Siem managing director Regis Rougier.
“It is not quite complete yet,” Rougier told reNEWS on Monday. “All the cables have been laid but the vessel is still out on the field.”
The cable-laying process commenced in June and involved the installation of ten of JDR’s 33kV wires, with a combined length of around 70km.
Senvion is to supply 54 of the wind farm’s 6.2M126 turbines, with installation expected to commence early next year.
