Acciona has shut down three turbines for repairs at the 30MW Hermanville wind farm on Prince Edward Island in Canada because of cracks in the blade bearings.
The company said analysis to the find what caused the problem at the 10-turbine project is “ongoing”, while the repair work will be completed as soon as possible.
The project (pictured) comprises AW116/3000 machines and has been commissioned since January 2014.
It is owned and operated by PEI Energy Corp, with all electricity generated sold to Maritime Electric Company.
