EnBW is to buy Danish wind turbine service provider Connected Wind Services (CWS).
The German utility said the deal will help it “become a significant player in the fast growing area dealing with the service and maintenance of wind turbine generators”.
EnBW added that it will also use the acquisition to tap potential new customers in the Nordic region, as well as Germany.
The transaction, which is subject to the approval of Germany’s cartel office, is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2016, the company said.
CWS has 190 employees and generated €35m in revenue in 2015. It has 50 service teams currently maintaining about 1800 wind turbines.
