Nordex has bagged a plum deal to supply 19 N90/2500 turbines to the 47.5MW Brockaghboy wind farm in Northern Ireland.
The TCI Renewables-developed Derry project is owned by Italian company ERG Renew. The deal was first revealed in June by the subscriber-only reNEWS.
Building is already underway at the site where civil contractor Adman Civil Projects is tackling construction.
ERG Renew is hoping to commission the project in time for the end-March 2017 Renewables Obligation deadline.
“We are pleased to have ERG as a customer in this project. This highlights the fact that Nordex is once again the first choice among large power plant operators and energy suppliers,” said chief strategy officer Patxi Landa.
“For years now ERG has been operating N90/2500s in Italy and plans to use this turbine on an 80-metre tubular steel tower at this very high-yield site with average wind speeds in excess of 9 metres per second.”
The deal includes a 10-year full servicing contract.
