US developer Exelon Wind has unveiled plans to build a 200MW wind farm in northern Ohio.
The early-stage project will consist of about 87 turbines in the 2.3MW to 2.5MW range, Exelon said in a pre-application filing to the Ohio Power Siting Board.
The project area encompasses approximately 25,000 acres of leased land in portions of Sciopo, Reed, Eden, Bloom and Venice Townships in Seneca County.
Exelon plans to hold a public information meeting in the next several months. Regulators will also conduct a public hearing.
The wind developer is a subsidiary of Chicago-based nuclear power company Exelon Corp.
