Invenergy Wind North America has unveiled plans to build a 126MW wind and solar project in northern New York State.
The Number Three project will include 35 to 50 turbines and up to 100 acres of solar panels, Invenergy said in a filing to the state Siting Board.
The Chicago-based developer plans to build the project on private land in the towns of Harrisburg, Lowville and Denmark in Lewis County. More than 5000 acres are already under lease.
The Number Three development will hook up to the electricity grid via a 5-mile 115kV interconnection line from a project substation to a new 115kV switchyard in the Town of Lowville.
The applicant has submitted an interconnection request and the New York Independent System Operator is performing an interconnection feasibility study.
Invenergy expects the project will operate at an annual net capacity factor of 32% and generate about 352,000 MWh/year.
The proponent plans to enter into a payment in lieu of taxes deal, which would result in annual payments of about $1m to the county, towns, school districts and fire departments.
Invenergy has submitted a public involvement program under the Article 10 permitting process. The developer plans to kick off town board meetings this summer and hold a public open house in the fall.
The developer hopes to complete and commission the project in 2019.
