A 1200-tonne substation topside for Dong Energy’s 256MW Burbo 2 offshore wind farm in the Irish Sea has been loaded out from Engie Fabricom’s Hoboken yard.
The Iements Smulders-made structure was completed last week and lifted onto a barge on Monday next to the jacket which was loaded out earlier in June.
Both the topside and jacket will be shipped to Cammell Laird this month.
Van Oord will begin installation of EEW-made monopile foundations at the Burbo 2 site in the coming weeks.
MHI Vestas V165-8MW turbine components have also begun arriving at the pre-assembly port at Belfast Harbour where they will be loaded out to Liverpool Bay in September by A2Sea.
