Vestas has won a 224MW deal from EDF Energies Nouvelles to supply turbines to the Nicolas-Riou wind farm in Quebec, Canada.
The contract covers 65 of the Danish company’s V117-3.45MW machine with delivery due in the second quarter of 2017.
EDF EN is joined in the 50:50 wind farm project by community and regional partners. The deal marks the debut of the top-drawer Vestas platform in the Canadian market.
“We are very proud to build on our footprint in Canada and introduce our 3MW platform to the Canadian market,” said Chris Brown, president of Vestas sales and service division in the US and Canada.
“The combination of a robust design and a large rotor make this turbine an outstanding choice to minimize the cost of energy throughout the life of the project,” he added.
