University of Limerick is eyeing the acquisition of a marine ROV system to inspect renewable energy sites off the Irish coast.
A contract valued at up to €1.9m is on offer. The tender is split into three lots for the base ROV as well as a navigational and launch and recovery system.
“The acquired ROV should be a vehicle with good thrust to drag ratio developed for sub-sea applications in offshore wind or similar,” the tender notice said.
“The system is required to have: high precision positioning and navigation systems; camera and lighting systems, sonar and other sensors; robot manipulator systems for intervention tasks on energy converter devices, cables, moorings, risers, anchorage, etc.”
Bidders have until 27 June to signal interest in the tender.
