Government officials are sifting through 38 bids for the 700MW Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind zones in the Netherlands.
The government is currently evaluating the raft of paperwork that arrived for the 12 May deadline and hope to name a winning bidder on 11 August.
The main criteria for the twin 350MW zones will be price, although would-be developers must also prove technically and financially capable of building the projects.
Bidding for the 700MW Borssele 3 & 4 zones is currently scheduled to kick off in September.
Confirmed bidders in the first auction include Vattenfall, RWE and a consortium including Eneco, Shell and Van Oord.
