MPI has been selected by Senvion to install 54 turbines at Northland and RWE’s 332MW Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
Jack-up vessel Enterprise (pictured) will tackle transport and erection of the 6.2M126 turbines in waters up to 29 metres deep starting in early 2017.
The contract was signed this week in Hamburg by Senvion and MPI. Nordsee 1 is located approximately 40km north of Juist Island and is due online in late 2017.
MPI thanked Senvion “for its open and constructive attitude in working towards this positive outcome” and said it looks forward to starting preliminary work on the project.
“We are confident that MPI Enterprise will make a valuable contribution to the realisation of the Nordsee 1 offshore wind farm, a project that will benefit all parties involved and the German offshore wind industry in general,” added the company.
