The Dow Chemical Company is to buy electricity from NRG Energy’s 150 MW Goat Mountain I and II wind farms in Texas.
The 10-year power purchase agreement will see the electricity go to Dow’s Freeport facilities in the US state.
Dow has also increased its 2025 clean energy target to 750MW from 400MW. Renewables currently provide approximately 500MW of the company’s electricity following the addition of NRG’s 150MW.
The Goat Mountain I and II wind farms are spread across 11,000 acres in Coke and Sterling counties, north of San Angelo.
