Adwen’s AD 5-132 offshore turbine has secured type certification from DNV GL.
The turbine has been certified as special class, the company said, which covers the most demanding offshore sites.
It is tailored for subtropical monsoon climates found in Asian markets and is designed to survive in typhoon conditions, Adwen said.
“This type certificate is an important step forward for Adwen as it confirms the technology performance of the AD 5-132, which has been designed to support extreme weather conditions while guaranteeing reliable performance and maximum energy output, thereby optimizing the levelised cost of energy”, said Adwen’s chief technology officer Maite Basurto.
