MPI jack-up Discovery has docked at A&P Group’s Tyne yard for a series of repairs.
The yard said its 150-strong workforce are tackling work on the vessel’s Azimuth and tunnel thrusters.
Discovery, which arrived on Friday 6 May, will also be fitted with two new main SW isolation valves as well as external scupper pipes.
It is the second deal won by A&P for MPI vessels, with jack-up Adventure undergoing two weeks of repairs at the Hebburn yard last month.
A&P business development director Ash Sinha said: “The MPI Discovery’s arrival made for quite a spectacle as it came up the Tyne and it’s now towering over the yard. It’s certainly one of the most innovative and imposing vessels we’ve had here and we’re delighted to welcome our second vessel from MPI Offshore.”
