Nordex N100/2500 turbines have entered commercial operation at the 107.5MW Thunder Spirit wind farm in the US.
The German turbine manufacturer said today that the Allete Clean Energy-developed project in North Dakota features some 43 machines. The wind farm is owned by Montana Dakota Utilities.
Excelon’s 30MW Fair Wind project in Maryland also features the N100/2500 model and has also been pushed into operation.
Nordex said the decisions by the US Government to extend the Production Tax Credit for wind offers the company “good opportunities” in the market following its merger with Acciona Windpower.
