Saipem has confirmed a contract for lifting and mating operations at Statoil’s 30MW Hywind floating offshore wind farm off the Scotland coast.
The drilling and EPC company announced the deal as part of a number of contracts worth €430m. Other deals include work on a number of pipelines in the Caspian and Adriatic seas.
The company said the contracts highlight its “exposure to activities that are not directly impacted by the oil price, where the company is able to leverage its diversified portfolio of assets and know-how”.
Hywind will feature five Siemens SWT-6.0-154 machines on floating spar foundations in waters up to 120 metres deep 25km off Peterhead. It is due to be fully operational in 2017.
