Chinese companies Goldwind and CECEP Wind Power Corporation (CECWPC) will start construction on the 175MW White Rock wind farm in Australia later this month.
The $400m New South Wales project will enter the build phase after CECWPC acquired a 75% stake in the wind farm.
White Rock, which is located to the west of Glen Innes, will feature 70 Goldwind 2.5MW turbines with Fulton Hogan to tackle the main civil engineering works. Consent is in place for a further 49 turbines.
The project partners hope to commission the first phase by the end of 2017.
CECWPC chairman Li Shusheng said: “The 175MW White Rock Wind Farm will be larger than any currently operating Wind Farm in NSW. The approvals, connection agreement and construction contracts are in place.”
