Welspun Energy and ABB have reached a 700MW milestone of installed PV capacity in India.
The developer said today that it has added the 52MW Baramati PV project to its installed portfolio using ABB PV inverters.
The project comes on the back of other installations in Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
“By setting up large scale solar capacities across the country we are supporting India’s developmental needs through clean energy. This is essential if we want to power our industries sustainably and meet our renewable energy targets,” said Welspun’s managing director Vineet Mittal.
“We chose ABB as a bankable partner owing to its leadership in inverter technology, strong local presence and a robust service network which has helped us to synchronize our plants in a very short time, whilst meeting our robust quality standards.”
