Boskalis vessel Giant 7 has arrived at the construction site of Iberdrola’s 350MW Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
The vessel will be installing 280 foundation pin piles using a template. The construction site is located some 30km northeast of the Island of Rugen in water depths around 30 metres.
Offshore WindForce, a joint venture between Boskalis and Volker Stevin International will tackle transportation and installation of jackets and offshore piles.
Taklift 4 will tackle installation of four-legged jacket foundations, starting this summer. Jackets produced at Navantia shipyards, Bladt, and EEW are up to 60-metres high and weigh up to 620 tonnes.
Adwen is supplying 70 turbines of 5MW each with installation due in 2017. Full commissioning is due later that year.
