Fred Olsen company Global Wind Service is to help build a GE offshore wind prototype turbine at the Osterild onshore test site in Denmark.
The specialist contractor will join forces with crane partner BMS to erect the 6MW Haliade 150 machine at th Danish national test centre.
GE project manager Elsa-Laure Rondeleux said: “GWS has been awarded the Installation contract for our Osterild project based on the good experience we had with this company at the Belwind project in 2013 (pictured)”.
She said GWS proposed a full package for installation and manpower and will be repsonsible for full crane and installation scope including lifting supervision and mechanical and electrical installation.
The Osterild project is being built for client EDF Energies Nouvelles.
