Ocean Breeze’s 400MW Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the German North Sea generated more than 1TWh of electricity last year.
In December alone, the wind farm produced some 200GWh. This was the highest monthly yield the wind farm has reached so far.
Bard Offshore 1 went online in 2013. Late last year, the project was the first offshore wind farm in Germany to cross the 2GWh mark, operator Ocean Breeze said.
The 80-turbine wind farm has been operating at full capacity since early summer 2015.
Output from the wind farm had earlier been limited due to detrimental interactions between the 400MW BorWin1 grid hub and the wind farm.
A software-based security patch installed in late 2014 reanimated the project and stabilised output from the wind farm.
