The Bard Offshore 1 wind farm in the German North Sea has produced nearly 6 terrawatt-hours into the grid since going live five years ago.
The 400MW project went into operation on 26 August 2013 and ramped up production to hit a record 1.5 TWh in 2017.
Improvements were achieved “via continuous optimization of offshore processes by our best-in-class team”, said the company.
Ocean Breeze commercial managing director Jens Hagen said: “As pioneers of the German offshore industry we had to face many challenges on the high seas.
“Today, five years after the start of operations, Bard Offshore 1 is Germany’s offshore wind farm with the highest production capacity.”
Bard features 80 Bard-built 5MW turbines.
