Bladt Industries has upended the first transition piece for the 402MW Veja Mate offshore wind farm, which will be located 95km northwest of the island of Borkum in the German North Sea.
A joint venture between the Danish company and EEW SPC won the contract to build the foundations for the wind farm last year.
Bladt’s role in the project is to build 67 transition pieces, which, compared to previous projects, have a larger diameter of up to 6.8 metres.
The company said the process went to plan, with the total weight of the transition piece (pictured) 293.5 tonnes.
