Wind manufacturer Nordex reached a new turbine installation record in Germany in 2015 and increased output globally.
The company increased installation capacity in Germany to 437MW, up from 412MW in 2014, taking its market share up from 8.7% to almost 12%.
The total newly installed wind capacity in Germany in 2015 was 3730MW.
Globally, Nordex raised installed capacity in 2015 to 1700MW, up from 1490MW in 2014.
In Bavaria, the fifth largest wind market in Germany, Nordex achieved a 50% share, connecting 80 N117/2400 turbines to the grid.
At the end of 2015, Nordex launched the N131/3300, a turbine that optimises light wind conditions and builds on the technological development of the N117/2400.
The company installed the first of these in Brandenburg.
Nordex expects further growth in Germany despite an expected flattening of demand.
“Our order backlog has once again increased dramatically in recent months. For 2016, we therefore expect a significant increase of installations,” said Nordex head of sales Siegbert Pump.
