Duke Energy Renewables has completed the 110MW Los Vientos V wind Project in Starr County in Texas.
Garland Power & Light, Greenville Electric Utility System and Bryan Texas Utilities are buying the electricity from Los Vientos V through 25-year agreements.
The project came online in late December, bringing Duke’s total capacity installed in the USA in 2015 to 400MW of wind and 200MW of solar power.
Duke Energy Commercial Portfolio president Greg Wolf said: “We’ve come a long way since we constructed our first 29MW wind site in 2008.
“The company surpassed the 2000MW milestone just six months ago, and we’ve continued to accelerate renewables growth to a year-end total approaching 2500MW.”
