German wind turbine manufacturer Senvion has appointed Jürgen Geissinger as its new chief executive.
Geissinger begins his role immediately, taking over from Andreas Nauen who was at the helm during Senvion’s recent change of ownership. Nauen will continue supporting the company on its advisory board.
Geissinger has a track record in leading technology-based engineering businesses. He was in charge at technology company Schaeffler for 15 years growing revenues from €2bn in 1998 to €12bn by 2013 and, according to Senvion, playing a key role in defining and executing the firm’s growth strategy.
After his departure from Schaeffler he was an advisor to German and international industrial companies.
Senvion supervisory board chairman Stefan Kowski said: “We are delighted to welcome Jürgen Geissinger to Senvion. He has the proven capabilities required to drive exceptional business growth by creating strategic clarity, driving innovation and quality, while ensuring disciplined execution globally.
“We believe that his experience combined with his passion for technology will help ensure that Senvion continues to be an innovation leader and will expand its presence in our existing and several new markets.
Kowski thanked Nauen for his efforts during a period of change and transition. The departing chief said the company is ready for “another great leap forward”.
Jürgen Geissinger said: “Senvion is a technology pioneer and key player in an industry showing strong global growth and I am delighted to be able to contribute my experience to expand and develop the company further.
“The business is well positioned to tap into new opportunities and I am confident that we have the drive and resources to be highly competitive. I look forward to working with the entire Senvion team as we embark on this exciting journey.”
