Gamesa has won a contract from Mexico Power Group and First Reserve for the turnkey construction of the 130MW La Bufa wind farm in Zacatecas in Central Mexico.
The Spanish manufacturer will install 65 of G114 2.0 MW turbines and handle the infrastructure needed to install and operate the project.
The turbines are planned for delivery in 2016, with commissioning to be completed the same year.
The deal also includes long-term operation and maintenance services.
Electricity generated by the wind farm will be supplied to Volkswagen’s factories in the cities of Puebla and Silao.
