John Laing Group has reached financial close on its acquisition of the 20MW Pasilly wind farm in Bourgogne in France.
The wind farm, which the company’s first investment in France, will consist of 10 Gamesa G97 turbines.
Construction is scheduled to finish in the third quarter of next year.
It is supported for 15 years from the start of operations by the French feed-in tariff system.
John Laing managing director of renewable energy Ross McArthur said: “The French government has recently pledged to increase the share of renewable power in the energy mix.
“At John Laing we are please to be contributing to the growth of renewable wind power in France, as well as to be working with Gamesa once again.
“We continue to see opportunities to invest in projects in France and other selected countries in Europe.”
