The UK Supreme Court has resurrected legal proceedings related to historic grouting issues at the 174MW Robin Rigg offshore wind farm in the Solway Firth between Scotland and England.
The court has approved an appeal application from Eon, despite having recently confirmed a ruling made in favour of contractor MT Hojgaard, and will now hear arguments in the case.
“The opposing party is allowed to conduct the case at the Supreme Court,” said MT Hojgaard. “The group expects a final decision no earlier than 2016.”
The Danish company has set aside Dkr195m as a special item in the 2015 accounts to offset potential losses related to the case.
Robin Rigg is one of a number of wind farms suffering from the historic grout issue, which affects the join between monopile foundations and transition pieces.
