The Scottish Government’s Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals has approved Force 9 Energy’s 21MW Craigton and Spittalhill wind farm in the Fintry Hills, in Stirlingshire in Scotland.
The decision, first reported in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS, follows the refusal earlier this year by Stirling Council to approve the seven-turbine proposal.
Force 9 head of planning and development Andrew Smith said: “We take great care and attention in how and where we design our wind farms, seeking to minimise visual and environmental impacts to an acceptable level.
“We are pleased that the Reporter’s decision affirms that we have done this successfully for the Craigton & Spittalhill project.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the local communities and all the representative groups we have liaised with over the last three years for their time and input. We look forward to working with them and their communities as the project moves forward.”
