Mott MacDonald acted as lenders’ technical advisor during the financing of Nobelwind’s €655m Belwind 2 offshore wind farm to be located 45km off the Belgian coast at Ostend.
The 165MW project achieved financial close last month and Mott MacDonald will now monitor construction of the wind farm.
Belwind 2 will consist of 50 3.3MW Vestas wind turbines.
Construction of the wind farm is due to be completed by the end of 2017.
Mott MacDonald project manager Marios Papalexandrou said: “Our technical, environmental and commercial review under very strict timelines played a key role in the project reaching this milestone.”
